Primitive is a small, scattered scene. Most servers run quiet, and the players sit on a handful of them. Check ping before anything else: the mode's fights are close and timing matters. Read the Next wipe column as a forecast, not a promise. A plain time is published by the server. A time marked with ~ is our estimate from its wipe history. The Players column is live and moves between refreshes. To see what a server held after its last wipe, open its page.
Questions
Asked of the forecast desk
What is a primitive Rust server?
A primitive server runs Facepunch's Primitive game mode, which removes guns. Players use bows, spears and melee instead. A server can still be official, community or modded on top of the mode, depending on what else it changes.
Do primitive Rust servers have guns?
No. The mode removes firearms, so combat is limited to bows, spears and melee weapons. A server that calls itself primitive but spawns guns is not running the real mode.
When do primitive Rust servers wipe?
It varies by server. Some only wipe at the monthly force wipe, which falls on the first Thursday of the month, and others wipe weekly or on their own schedule. Each row here gives its next wipe in UK time and UTC, with a ~ marking an estimate. For the next force wipe, see the countdown.
Are primitive Rust servers good for solo players?
They can suit solo play because the mode softens the gear gap that guns create. Group limits vary, so check the tag on each row before you commit. Population matters more: a quiet server with a small, steady crowd is easier to read than a busy one that empties.
Wipes behave like weather on these servers. A monthly force wipe brings a busy front, then populations settle over following days. Weekly servers come back each week on the same day and often hold a steadier crowd. How long a server keeps its players after a wipe tells you more than its peak on wipe night. Sort by Rank to see which servers stay populated, not just spike. Add a play style tag to narrow the list, or browse every Rust server for the full picture.
